Volunteer opportunity (Tactix Gym)
We are looking at getting a volunteer program for our upcoming summer camp. We are looking for 10-15 kids who would like to volunteer up to two weeks of their time or 1 -2 days a week for 6 weeks. This would continue to be a paid job for those who show outstanding work ethic.
Minimum age would be 13, they would just send a resume or a quick email with qualifications and I would set up an interview with them. We’re looking for teens who love kids and are able to work closely with ages 6-10. They can apply together with a friend to be paired up or separately. They must complete 40 hours volunteer before re applying for a paid position. But everyone will receive a letter from Tactix confirming their volunteer hours, along with a letter of recommendation.
You can have any candidates email my email firstname.lastname@example.org or have them call or text 604 644 6727.
1) May Days in Ladner is looking for volunteers, see below:
We are hoping to have student volunteers for our fair grounds on Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th.
We have shifts for the morning and the evening, but there are a few positions during the day on Sunday.
We are looking for students that are self-starters and are able to lift at least 25lbs. They will be helping setting up the market area with our vendors as many are elderly, and they will be working with the public to give directions. For our day time shift, they will help organise the young May Queen candidates, and walk along their parade float. Volunteers get refreshments at our tent, certificate for their hours, and many thanks from our vendors and staff. We are always so excited to have people with great attitudes!
If interested please contact Beth Schofield at email@example.com.

Delta South Youth Council: looking for new members
Are you young and passionate about politics? Would you like to make a difference in your own community? If so, MLA Ian Paton’s Delta South Youth Council is recruiting new members and would love for you to join. For more details please come by the office.
Just a little bit of information for interested students about the council – it is non-partisan, it provides an environment where young people get to engage with their local representative about issues that resonate with them, and the council works on various projects to promote responsible behavior. For example, the previous council worked on a Beach Clean-Up last April which was a success.
Anyone wanting to join would have to email a brief paragraph on why they would like to join and their resume. They can send it to Taylor.Grant@leg.bc.ca. Any other questions that arise can be directed this way as well.
Boarding UAlberta (for Grade 11 students only) (deadline Feb 10th)
This is a program for Grade 11 students where they can apply to go to the University of Alberta for a weekend (May 24th-26th) and experience all that the university has to offer! Application deadline is February 10th, 2019.
