TRADES TRAINING PROGRAMS - LEVEL ONE (Foundation) 

WHAT IS IT?
Level 1 Trades Training is the first step in education/training to prepare students for employment/apprenticeship in the trade area of their choice.  
Level 1 includes instruction (20% school) and apprenticeship hours (80% hands on).
Upon completion of a Foundations program, students receive their Level 1 training certification and may seek employment as apprentices to gain on the job experience.

WORK IN TRADES AND TRAIN IN TRADES PROGRAMS
Students who have apprenticeship placements before the end of high school can register with our Work in Trades or Train in Trades program.  Students can bank hours and receive credit for apprenticeship work while in high school.  Please contact Ms. Patty Burr (pburr@deltasd.bc.ca) for more info.
If you have decided to do one of these programs in your Grade 12 year and need to start the paperwork, please see Ms. Burr, preferably by February of Grade 11.

WAIT-LIST TIMEs AND HOW TO DECREASE THEM - DO A PRE-TEST!
Waitlists for trades entry can be long, but you can decrease this time by completing a BCIT or Kwantlen pre-test. 

Pre-tests can be done at the BCIT campus.
